How did a trillion get its start? Trillion CEO Ruslan Pechenkin shared that the experimental technology was developed in response to the jewelry industry being “a bit outdated” on the digital front.
The idea of creating a trillion was born at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. We wanted to offer customers the opportunity to have exactly the same experience as in-store, but at the same time in the safety and from the comfort of their own home,” He said.
According to Pechenkin, Trillion is the first app of its kind with a virtual experience feature that caters to both brands and customers. Trillion’s chief technology officer, Sergey Bachalov, shared what the process was like when they were designing the app.
“Our primary mission was to create a simple, convenient yet modern app that meets the needs of jewelry brands. The jewelry market is a typical luxury market, where the public and brands demand the visual part and the details,” Baskhalov said.
Consequently, many hours were devoted to the application prototyping process, with a trillion now undergoing multiple redesigned versions. It took MVP six months to complete and a few more months of debugging before the app was ready for commercial release.
“We are proud of the app’s current UX design. It gives the experience we wanted to provide. We are flexible and not afraid of experiments, but at the same time, we listen to our customers and pay close attention to user behavior analytics,” Bachalov added.

“We wanted to open up the augmented reality experience to all common types of jewellery,” Pechenkin said. “That is why we have been experimenting with rings, necklaces and earrings. Soon, new types of jewelry will be activated for our trial.”
